Butterflies Bereavement - Transforming Lives
Butterflies Bereavement Support was created by a group of people who had experienced bereavement and loss and who have used their skills and experience to ensure that all people have full access to a specialist bereavement support network at the time of need for their family and friends.
Butterflies Community Hub on the Isle of Wight brings a wealth of experience and the training of local volunteers to provide a comprehensive service for the whole island.
Butterflies is here to help recently bereaved and also those who have been bereaved over the years..everyone is welcome equally.
All of our volunteers have been officially checked in line with Home Office Requirements and have Enhanced DBS checks. These are reviewed regularly.
The Volunteers also have access to ongoing training, supervision and support and attend regular team meetings.
We are organisational members of
The National Counselling Society
The National Suicide Alliance
We are also members of:
The Grief Trust
The Commission for Social Justice
The National Bereavement Alliance

We are dementia friendly
All of our services are provided free of charge* although any donations are appreciated as we are a self-funded organisation.

Following my meeting with the team at Butterflies last week, i felt It is amazing what you do for bereaved people – it is so good to see people interacting and being able to open up about their bereavement in such a relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you again for the opportunity – it was a very humbling experience but one which left a big impression on me
