Butterflies Bereavement Support is passionate about ensuring that everyone who has been bereaved through suicide on the Isle of Wight to  able to access bereavement support at the time of need and for as long as it is needed.

We have spoken to people across the Island who have been severely affected, both emotionally and physically after a loved one or friend has ended their own life and they have all said that they welcome the support that we are able to offer now and highlighted that it would have been effective at the time of death.

Our support group will help you in various ways, including:

  • Help and guidance immediately after the death occurs

  • Support and help in the days and weeks that follows

  • Guidance regarding funerals costs,

  • Transition and acceptance of being bereaved

  • Ongoing bereavement care and support

  • Support at the Inquest

  • Support for you as long as you need it

In our support group, meet and learn from others who have experienced a suicide and make new friends who we can journey together carrying the memories of our loved ones locked safely in our hearts forever.

We can also arrange for personalised counselling and support sessions with our volunteers for anyone who struggles to talk with others around them.
